from one chef to another

“when you come across something great and beautiful, never keep it to yourself. Write it down, take a picture of it, then take it home and make sure your family, your kids and friends hear about it. That’s what makes the world go round.”

I like that quote by Jamie Oliver. And it got me thinking about our trip to Padstow. I mentioned in my “Newquay” post that we had lunch at Rick Stein’s Cafe. I was quick to mention the £34 bottle of wine, when what I should have been talking about was the tastiest dish I’ve eaten in a long, long time. The Vietnamese poached chicken salad with mint and coriander had my taste buds tingling, like thousands of tiny feet dancing on your tongue. It was simply superb.

Thanks Jamie.

Thanks Rick.
