(beyond 4)
If you were coming along here when it was half dark, you could easily think those piles of rock were giants.

tenerife – day 4 – los gigantes
We decided on a drive to Los Gigantes today. We’ve actually stayed here in the past and were just curious to see what might have changed. Los Gigantes is a resort town in the Santiago del Teide municipality on Tenerife’s west coast. Its main feature are the giant rock formations, Acantilados de Los Gigantes, that rise from the sea to a height of 500-800 metres. They are quite impressive and the area has its own micro-climate.
It’s a 30km drive from Los Cristianos and pretty easy to get to. The roads are good, although the TF1 motorway around Playa de Las Americas can be a bit mental.
It was cloudy by the time we arrived. We parked the car and made our way down towards the marina. A few restaurants have gone and I felt the place looked a little run down.

We had planned on having lunch here, but it has to be said you’re not exactly spoiled for choice. We found a bar on our way back up the main street. The food was underwhelming.
Talking of changes …..
