“All I know of birds to this date is that sparrows are the ones that are not pigeons.”
Alan Coren

So there it was, lying in the back garden – and definitely dead as the numerous flies were testifying. I was slightly shocked; I can’t remember having seen a dead pigeon before. My initial thought was “Does this go in the green or the brown bin?”
Then I got to thinking – you don’t see dead pigeons. They obviously don’t live forever as the deceased bird proves. I can only imagine the undersides of Glasgow’s railway bridges must be concealing thousands of decaying pigeon carcasses.
And another thing – it was light as a feather – literally!
